Sir John Savage was born after 1422 in Clifton, Cheshire, England and died 22 November 1495 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England.

He fought in the Battle of Bosworth Field in August 1485.

 

He married Catherine Stanley. She was born about 1430 in Stanley, Derbyshire, England and died 1498 in Clifton, Cheshire, England. She was the daughter of Sir Thomas, Lord Stanley and Joan Goushill.

Their children were:
